{ A Few More Summer Inspirational Quotes }
It’s nearly time for the start of a new school year. Let’s inspire ourselves and our children to enjoy these last days of summer while preparing for that “new beginning” we all start to feel toward the end of August. #InspireYourSummer
Every month I like to choose a few quotes and personalize them a little bit. I usually rotate them as the background on my computer and my phone. Whenever it’s time to get to work or I go to unlock my phone, it’s like a little shot of inspiration. This summer I’m concentrating on relaxing, reading and learning how to work better, so I created some graphics to reflect that.

“If you think you are too small to be effective, you have never been in the dark with a mosquito.”
– Betty Reese
We all get to feeling that way at times. The world is so big, there are so many amazing people out there, and here we are — just ONE person. But you can be the mosquito — not necessarily annoying, but persistent. Although, if you’re fighting to make a positive change for a cause you believe in — sometimes you might have to be a little annoying to get people’s attention.
“We must:
Own our thoughts;
Make our decisions;
Own our choices;
Move on with our plan.”
— Lane Pietrylo
I met Lane on Twitter several months ago. Her Tweets are my go-to when I need to hear or watch words to inspire me. Lane’s personal mantra is necessary advice for everyone. She is a great person to help show you that you need to start where you are, but always move forward. Connect with Lane on Twitter —@LanePietrylo
“Work is not always required. There is such a thing as sacred idleness.”
— George MacDonald, Scottish novelist and poet, 1824-1905
Our lives will get busier and busier if we allow it to happen. If you’re a caretaker or a freelancer and/or a blogger, you probably know the guilt-ridden feelings that go along with taking downtime. Stop it. That very downtime — “sacred idleness” — is what allows us to be more productive and conquer the next challenges in our lives.
Take some time to lose the guilt and relax with a cold beverage and a friend or loved one. Bonus points if you turn off your phones and leave them out of sight!
I couldn’t decide which version I like best, so I decided to include all of them.
(And just so you know, these words have replaced the Ray Bradbury quote I had on my computer screen from last month. 😉 )
“Rejoice as summer should…chase away sorrows by living.”
― Melissa Marr
We all have things in our lives (losses, challenges, sad thoughts) that could knock us down flat if we were to dwell on them at length. But at some point, we need to remember that somewhere down deep, there is a vibrant core of happiness. Let it out, let it shine, LIVE.
“Luck is what you have left over after you give 100 percent.”
– Langston Coleman
Exactly. Seriously, there’s nothing to add.
(By the way, this is the new printed and framed quote for my office.)
