Spring is here, and that means it’s time for a fresh start with your home. This April declutter calendar is your simple daily system to clear clutter and make more room for what works in your current season of life.
If your house has been feeling a little heavy from winter clutter buildup, this month will help. You’ll work through manageable tasks each day that support your routines and leave you – and your home – feeling lighter without adding to your overwhelm.
April’s longer days naturally give you more energy, and that makes it the right time to gently shift from ‘winter survival’ to ‘spring reset.’ Let’s use this month to reconnect indoor and outdoor areas, prep your kitchen for the new season, and finally deal with the hotspots that slow you down every day.
If you’ve been craving more ease and better flow in your home, this is a solid place to begin. The quick daily decluttering ideas in this April declutter challenge were designed with that in mind. How the April Declutter Calendar Works
Here’s how the April decluttering calendar works and how to get the most out of it.
Each day, you’ll tackle one task. Just one. Set a timer, because you’ll only want to spend about ten minutes (sometimes less) on each task. Now, COULD you spend more than 10 minutes a day on these tasks? Of course. But you don’t HAVE to.
This isn’t about scrubbing everything or organizing like it’s a full-time job. This is for those quick 10-minute windows where daily small changes add up. We’re going for simple improvement, not overwhelming perfection.
Here’s what makes it doable:
- Focused areas – so you don’t wander off mid-task
- Zero decision fatigue – the decluttering calendar tells you what to do
- Repeats of some tasks (like kitchen cabinets) – because doing just one might not be enough for this time of year
- Seasonal mindset – the whole ‘spring cleaning’ vibe really helps with motivation to declutter quickly (and maybe even ruthlessly)
You’ll move through four weekly themes, with two wrap-up days at the end.

Week 1: Indoor/Outdoor Life Reset
As the weather warms up, you’re using outdoor spaces again – but those areas might still be stuck in winter. Let’s fix that. This week clears the path between indoors and out.
Day 1: Entryway Clutter – Clear out winter items and everything that doesn’t belong.
Day 2: Outdoor Tools – Fix or toss anything broken or unused. Keep and store only what you’ll reach for this year.
Day 3: Garage Catch-all Corner – Pick one small area to declutter. One shelf, one box, or one bag.
Day 4: Gardening Shed – Sort and tidy what you’ll actually use this year. Wipe down tools and prep them for use.
Day 5: Outdoor Toys – Anything broken gets trashed; anything outgrown gets donated. Keep storage bins manageable.
Day 6: Sports Gear – Gather it all. Let go of unused and outgrown, or anything taking up space.
Day 7: Outdoor Decor – Discard what’s worn out or no longer fits your style. Keep what you’ll actually display.
Week 2: Kitchen Deep Declutter – Part 1

Your kitchen works hard. It deserves better than cluttered counters and overstuffed cabinets – and so do you. This week, you’ll focus on small zones to make spring cooking easier.
Day 8: One Kitchen Counter – Clear off what doesn’t belong and leave only the essentials. The ‘essentials’ might even be NOTHING, which would make cooking and cleaning up so much easier!
Day 9: One Upper Kitchen Cabinet – Quickly and completely declutter.
Day 10: Another Upper Kitchen Cabinet – Same process, asking yourself what you actually NEED.
Day 11: One Lower Kitchen Cabinet – Pull out everything and keep only what you USE.
Day 12: Another Lower Cabinet – Try the one with awkward pans or gadgets you never touch.
Day 13: Kitchen Junk Drawer – Toss what’s broken or irrelevant, group what you need, and contain it.
Day 14: Another Lower Cabinet – Focus on the messy one you’ve been ignoring.

Week 3: Kitchen Deep Declutter – Part 2
Time to finish what you started. These areas often hide old food, extra gadgets, and items that get in your way.
Day 15: Fridge – Expired condiments, old leftovers, and anything you forgot existed.
Day 16: Freezer – Group like items, toss anything with freezer burn, and label what’s staying.
Day 17: Pantry (first pass) – Remove what’s expired or that you know you won’t eat.
Day 18: Pantry (second pass) – Tidy shelves and group items so you can actually see what you have.
Day 19: Counter Hot Spot – The one that collects papers, mail, lunchboxes, or random clutter. Clear it today.
Day 20: Spring Party Supplies – Leftover paper plates, cups, or decorations you no longer use.
Day 21: Seasonal Serveware – Keep only what you truly use. Donate the rest.
Week 4: Hot Spot Reset
Every home has those sneaky spots that attract clutter. This week helps you deal with them one at a time, before they grow into something bigger.
Day 22: Living Room Surface Clutter – TV stand, side tables, coffee table, etc. Clear it down to what belongs.
Day 23: Bedroom Chair or Corner – The one covered in clothes, etc. You know the one.
Day 24: Bathroom Counter or Shelf – Take care of all.the.things that just randomly collect.
Day 25: Laundry Area – Too many bottles, baskets, or piles of ‘I’ll fold that later.’
Day 26: Office or Paper Pile – Sort, shred, or file one stack.
Day 27: Kids’ Room Clutter – One bin, shelf, or drawer at a time.
Day 28: Hallway or Stair Landing – Clear it down to what needs to be there (if anything).
Final 2 Days: Wrap-Up and Reset
You’ve made real progress this month. These last two days give you the space to either finish something off or give yourself a mental breather.
Day 29: Random Clutter Bin – That catch-all basket or container you toss things into. Sort it and deal with it.
Day 30: Your Choice – Revisit a spot you want to refine, or choose one last area that’s been bugging you.
